Tiger Global Leads $130 Million Investment Round in Open-Banking Startup TrueLayer

The open-banking startup TrueLayer closed a $130 million funding round led by Tiger Global and Stripe.

The company did not disclose other investors. Its valuation reached $1 billion.

In April, the startup raised $70 million from Addition and other investors.

TrueLayer offers a set of APIs, which enable interbank payments, bypassing traditional payment networks. Crypto startups use this solution to create seamless interactions with customers.

“TrueLayer is creating a new payments infrastructure for fast, secure and user-friendly transactions,” said Francesco Simoneschi, CEO of the company, The Block.

The funds will be used to develop products, hire staff and expand geographically.

Earlier in August, Tiger Global supported the CertiK smart-contract auditor in a $24 million round.
