TON Labs raises $6 million from Runa Capital and RTP Global

TON Labs has raised $6 million from the venture fund Runa Capital, with the participation of investment firm RTP Global, led by Leonid Boguslavsky. Forklog reported that TON Labs CEO Alexander Filatov told Forklog.

The round, which closed last year, also included other investors whose names are not disclosed by TON Labs.

TON Labs was one of the first external companies that Telegram engaged to develop the core components of the blockchain project Telegram Open Network (TON). Subsequently, TON Labs became one of the two dozen organisations that launched the Free TON project based on TON code.

General partner of Runa Capital Dmitry Chikhachev noted that TON Labs is the fund’s first blockchain project in its portfolio. Previously, the firm invested in technology-sector companies — EPAM, Yandex, Ozon and others.

Earlier, TON Labs became a partner of the state blockchain platform of China, the Blockchain-based Service Network (BSN). Under the agreement, Free TON will be added to the BSN platform.
