On 20 April, the NFT cards will appear on the WAX blockchain. According to the press release, the MLB series will include standard and premium sets with cards of varying rarity: from common to legendary.
For collectors, limited one-of-one legendary cards of players and iconic moments will be produced.
“Topps cards offer modern collectors and fans an innovative way to engage with their favourite stars,” said Evan Kaplan, the executive director of MLB Players.
Earlier in January, Topps Digital presented 18 NFT cards featuring the image of Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders in mittens. His photograph became a meme after Joe Biden’s inauguration as U.S. president.
