The company warned that the malicious app has no relation to Trezor or SatoshiLabs and advised against installing it.
As of writing, the fake app remained available on Google Play. It had been downloaded by more than a thousand people.
Users on Twitter noted that the malware creators forged positive reviews, pushing the app’s rating to 4.7. In the comments, some complained that the app froze after entering the seed phrase.
“Never share your seed phrase until your Trezor device asks you to do so,” the developers reminded.
The Trezor team also published a guide on using the hardware wallet for Android owners, urging it to be used as the sole official manual.
We have a manual on using Trezor with Android. Please, check it out and consider this approach as the only official solution: https://t.co/0aGOOi1TNj
