In a post on X, the politician and businessman also tagged the DeFi project World Liberty Financial, associated with his sons.
“This afternoon I will outline my plan to make the United States the cryptocurrency capital of the world,” Trump stated.
About an hour before the publication, a warning post appeared on the Telegram channel of World Liberty Financial, urging users to beware of scams:
“We have become aware of some advertisements circulating on Telegram claiming to be from us. They offer fake giveaways or token sales. […] We are not currently conducting any airdrops or selling tokens.”
It remains unclear what services World Liberty Financial will offer and how Trump will be involved.
Previously, the former president introduced a limited edition of sneakers featuring the Bitcoin logo.
By the end of August, sales of Donald Trump’s fourth NFT collection had exceeded $2 million.
