Trump’s Campaign Embraces Cryptocurrency Donations

Donald Trump’s presidential campaign has begun accepting donations in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and other digital currencies.

“Demonstrating the success of President Trump as a champion of American freedom and innovation, we proudly offer you the opportunity to contribute to the campaign using cryptocurrency. Saving our nation from Biden’s failures requires your support,” reads the page for crypto donations.

About two weeks ago, during an event promoting his NFT collection Mugshot Edition, the Republican candidate promised support for the industry, contrasting it with the policies of current President Joe Biden’s administration.

Trump also announced the opening of an account to receive donations in digital assets.

Amid the presidential campaign, criticism of the current government for its stance on cryptocurrencies is growing. Cardano co-founder Charles Hoskinson stated that Biden wants to “kill the industry.”

ConsenSys CEO Joseph Lubin believes that the SEC, supported by the president and led by Gary Gensler, is deliberately hindering innovation in the U.S., threatening the future of the country’s financial system.

Hayden Adams, founder of the largest DEX Uniswap, described the administration’s actions as a “total war” on the industry. The entrepreneur suggested that Biden might lose the election due to his opposition to cryptocurrencies. Billionaire Mark Cuban expressed a similar view.

In early May, a survey in several states revealed that over 20% of participants identified candidates’ positions on digital assets as crucial.

Previously, a Paradigm study found that 48% of voters who own cryptocurrencies plan to vote for Trump.
