Rosseti North Caucasus, together with law enforcement, halted the operation of two mining farms illegally connected to power grids.
As reported on the company’s website, the two farms were discovered in the village of Nechaevka in the Kizilyurt district.
The total volume of unaccounted electricity consumption exceeded 6.4 million kWh. The damage amounted to about 30 million rubles.
The suspects in organizing the mining farms face fines and criminal liability.
The company noted that Dagestan remains the leader among regions in the number of illegal miners. Since the start of the year, Rosseti North Caucasus has identified 13 cases of electricity theft for cryptocurrency mining in Dagestan, and the amount of electricity stolen has surpassed 8.3 million kWh.
Earlier in April, company specialists prevented a major electricity theft for mining in Makhachkala.
