The National Securities and Stock Market Commission of Ukraine (NSSMC) has established an advisory council to advance regulation of the virtual assets market (VA).
Primarily, it will work on a bill on the taxation of cryptocurrency transactions and amendments to the law “On Virtual Assets”.
The new body will also coordinate regulatory issues relating to activity in the crypto market.
The council will include representatives from “relevant authorities, leading market specialists and other interested participants”.
As reported, the law “On Virtual Assets,” adopted in September 2021, will not take effect until amendments to Ukraine’s Tax Code are enacted.
According to the NSSMC, the main law will also be revised to take into account the provisions of the European regulatory proposal on regulation, MiCA.
