Ukraine Launches AI and Blockchain Accelerator

The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine has launched a Sandbox for testing blockchain and artificial intelligence technologies, as announced on the ministry’s Telegram channel.

The Sandbox is described as the “first state space” where “startups can grow along an individual trajectory from small projects into new Ukrainian unicorns.” Teams can receive guidance from legal, business, and technical experts.

The platform aims to strengthen the public sector and the country’s economy, as well as to shape legislation in the fields of AI and Web3, taking into account the experiences and feedback of young companies.

The Sandbox will operate as an experiment under the Ukrainian Startup Fund until the end of 2026. The ministry then plans to assess the effectiveness of the initiative and establish a permanent tool for supporting innovation.

In May, the cryptocurrency wallet Trustee Plus ceased registering new users residing in Ukraine due to regulatory uncertainty.

Earlier, the Office of President Volodymyr Zelensky blocked the consideration of a bill on cryptocurrency regulation in the country.
