Ukraine to explore marriages and divorces in the metaverse

The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine is considering the possibility of registering marriages and divorces in metaverse. This was stated by the head of the ministry, Mikhail Fedorov, according to the «Экономическая правда».

According to the minister, the ministry has already developed a number of MVP in this direction. They are currently undergoing testing.

In general, the Ministry of Digital Transformation’s team focuses on two trends: govtech with the potential to export solutions to other countries and military tech.

“Security technologies are a new trend, which will be in demand for many years to come now, after the war in Ukraine,” said Fedorov.

He added that his ministry aims to build a country with the most convenient government services.

According to venture fund Hypra, since 2017 Ukraine has launched over 80 Web3 startups, which in total attracted about $1 billion in investments over the last four years.

Earlier, the cross-fractional association of deputies Blockchain4Ukraine and the public association “Virtual Assets of Ukraine” signed a roadmap for the adoption of blockchain and Web3 technologies in the country.
