The data monitoring service Opendatabot calculated that in 2022, employees of Ukraine’s National Police and Prosecutor’s Office submitted the most declarations of cryptocurrency ownership.
Out of 1428 declarations during the specified period, these two agencies accounted for 171 (12%) and 150 (10.5%) reports, respectively.
Officials from city councils rank third in terms of digital asset ownership, with 109 (7.6%) declarations.
Among regions, cryptocurrencies are most popular with civil servants in the Dnipropetrovsk, Odessa, and Kharkiv regions, accounting for over 14% of all mentions of virtual assets in declarations.
Bitcoin remains the most popular coin, declared by 648 officials (45%) in 2022. In 2021, digital gold was mentioned in 356 declarations.
Previously, Opendatabot identified the largest cryptocurrency holders among Ukrainian officials.
