Candidate for the head of Ukraine’s National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), Kateryna Kaplyuk, declared 31 crypto assets with a total purchase value of 167,601 UAH.
Journalist Kaplyuk worked at the NACP from 2020 to 2022, initially as an external advisor to the head of the agency, Oleksandr Novikov, and later as the chief specialist in the department monitoring the lifestyle of officials in the Special Checks Department.
It was during this period that she acquired the majority of her digital assets.
Her portfolio includes:
- 19,351,826 SHIB valued at 33,246 UAH (prices at the time of purchase);
- 1,090 USDT — 31,888 UAH;
- 0.13379617 ETH — 12,411 UAH;
- 1.68 SOL — 10,442 UAH;
- 1.57243599 LTC — 7,897 UAH;
- 192.6 MATIC — 6,780 UAH;
- 4.65 LUNC — 5,850 UAH;
- 0.01145 BTC — 5,510 UAH.
Her first Bitcoin purchase dates back to July 2018. Kaplyuk also holds the meme coin Dogecoin, the sports token Chiliz, and the currency of the gaming universe The Sandbox.
In March 2020, the NACP published rules for declaring cryptocurrencies as a type of “intangible asset.” However, digital assets have appeared in Ukrainian officials’ declarations since 2016.
According to “Bitcoin Magazine Ukraine,” in February 2023, participants in the Bitcoin millionaire ranking collectively owned about 47,000 BTC valued at $1 billion.
