Uniswap partners with Ledger

Uniswap Labs announced a partnership with Ledger, under which owners of the hardware wallet will be able to make “seamless and non-custodial” cryptocurrency swaps on the DEX.

“Now users can swap tokens via the Uniswap protocol without leaving the Ledger Live interface, while retaining full control over their digital assets thanks to Ledger hardware wallets, recognised as leaders in their field,” the press release says.

In a conversation with Cointelegraph, Uniswap Labs’ chief operating officer, Mary-Catherine Lader, said the integration is part of a mission to “unlock value through universal exchange and simplify the non-custodial user experience”.

Her colleague — chief customer officer Ian Rogers — stressed that the integration removes the need for “hot” wallets and intermediaries.

Initially, the new functionality will be available only on the desktop version and only for Ethereum. In the coming months, the developers promise mobile support and a wider range of supported networks.

At the start of the year, Uniswap plans to launch the Unichain L2 mainnet.
