Uniswap token enters top 10 by market capitalization

In the last 24 hours, the UNI token of the Uniswap decentralized exchange rose 11.9%. The coin climbed to eighth place by market capitalization among crypto assets, overtaking Litecoin and Chainlink.

At the time of writing, the asset is valued at $17.9 billion. Over the past seven days its price rose 55.2%. The token trades at $34.38, according to CoinGecko.

In terms of market capitalization within the DeFi segment, the UNI token took first place.

According to DeFi Pulse, the leading decentralized exchange sits in fourth place by the volume of assets locked in the sector. The figure stands at $3.93 billion at the time of writing.

What is Uniswap (UNI)?

In September 2020, the exchange’s token entered in the top-50 assets by market capitalization.

In December, trading volume on Uniswap exceeded $50 billion, and in February the figure surpassed $100 billion.

PancakeSwap overtook Uniswap in terms of the value of assets locked.
