ViaBTC founder proposes Bitcoin Cash hard fork
ViaBTC pool founder Haipo Yang is considering a hard fork of the Bitcoin Cash network, provisionally named Bitcoin Cat.
He voiced the idea against a backdrop of active discussions about the cryptocurrency’s difficulty-adjustment algorithm, noting that “Cat is a cute animal and there won’t be any wars.”
I am considering to build a new Bitcoin fork inherit from BCH called Bitcoin Cat. It’s a temporary name. Cat is cute and harmless, there won’t have a war.

It is expected that the next network update will include a proposal to fund infrastructure, directing 8% of block rewards to the coin’s developers.
In the new chain, Yang proposed removing unspent transaction outputs that have not moved since the chain’s creation in August 2017. This could double the block reward and allocate funds to developers.
If Bitcoin Cash remove the UTXOs that never move since the fork, we can double the block reward and fund the foundation without the IFP and without break the 21M limit.

Later, Yang назвал ориентировочную дату проведения хардфорка — 15 ноября. Он также предложил сделать алгоритм добычи более дружелюбным к ASIC-майнерам, уменьшить время генерации блока и внедрить систему голосования среди держателей монет.
As reported in June, Outlier Ventures researchers said that over the past year 63% of Bitcoin Cash developers had left the network.
