According to Region Online, the man persuaded his female acquaintance to purchase cryptocurrency with his help; however the woman did not receive the digital assets.

Law enforcement authorities determined that the defendant had previously committed similar crimes.

According to the court ruling, the fraudster received five years’ imprisonment in a strict-regime penal colony.

Earlier it emerged, that a resident of the Russian Federation transferred more than 1.5 million rubles to criminals in an attempt to invest in cryptocurrencies.
