Volgograd resident loses nearly 1 million rubles in Bitcoin investment scam
A 54-year-old Volgograd resident fell victim to scammers who promised her earnings from cryptocurrency.
According to VolgaDay, seeking to invest in Bitcoin, the victim met online with an unknown man who promised to help her invest.
Subsequently the victim transferred nearly 1 million rubles to his account, after which she could no longer contact him.
Such incidents are becoming more frequent. Earlier this month it was reported that a resident of Khakassia was swindled out of 500,000 rubles, with promises of profits from cryptocurrency trading, and an elderly woman from Angarsk had nearly 300,000 rubles stolen.
