
Winamp Adds NFT Support on Ethereum and Polygon
The Winamp media player has integrated support for non-fungible tokens (NFT) on the Ethereum and Polygon networks.

The service now supports playing audio- and video-NFT standards ERC-721 and ERC-1155 after connecting to the Winamp wallet MetaMask via Brave, Chrome or Firefox.
“The new version of Winamp allows people to listen to any file using a player they already love,” said the company’s CEO Alexander Sabunjan.
The Winamp team also announced updates that will make Winamp a universal and the most advanced library for listening. The service is slated for launch in early 2023.
In the meantime, the music Web3 platform LGND Music entered into a partnership with Warner Music Group and Polygon. The parties will promote musical NFTs from January 2023.

Earlier, Warner Music Group struck a deal with the developer of the NFT game Splinterlands.
In August, the NFT music platform OneOf attracted strategic investments of more than $8 million.
