Worldcoin’s Orb Devices to Adopt Apple-Like Design

Tools for Humanity, the company behind the Worldcoin protocol, has announced an upgrade to its orb devices. The project’s CEO, Alex Blania, emphasized that the biometric devices will become more akin to an “Apple product.” This was reported by TechCrunch.

“The new orb is on its way. And the next versions will look completely different,” noted the top manager.

In conversation with the publication, Blania acknowledged that people “either hate or love” the device.

He also mentioned that the new version of the orb will be released in the first half of this year. The device will become “much more user-friendly.”

The project’s main product, the World ID protocol, is based on zero-knowledge proofs. It serves as a tool allowing individuals to undergo identification using biometric data or a phone number.

The launch of Worldcoin has prompted questions from regulators in many countries regarding user data protection. Authorities in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Kenya, and Argentina have shown interest in the project’s activities.

In December, developers introduced World ID 2.0, which is integrated with several platforms, including Telegram, Reddit, Shopify, and Minecraft, for passwordless authentication.
