Xai Gaming Project Token Plummets 30% Amid Airdrop

The gaming-focused project Xai, built on the Arbitrum L2 network, has launched its token and distributed 125 million XAI among users.

Xai positions itself as a third-level blockchain. The organization behind the project previously stated its development is inspired by Axie Infinity, with its gaming ecosystem modeled after Immutable X and Gala Games.

The network’s token is designed for multiple uses, including gas payments, validator rewards, and user incentives.

Offchain Labs, the company developing Arbitrum, enabled the launch of L3 blockchains on the mainnet in October 2023.

In late December 2023, the Xai team was forced to postpone the market release of XAI.

The asset launched on January 9. During the accompanying airdrop, premium NFT project holders and validators (Sentry Node operators) are eligible to receive coins. They will distribute 5% of the planned issuance of 2.5 billion XAI among them.

According to CoinGecko, the token fell from its debut price of $0.77 to $0.54, a drop of approximately 30%. Around 277 million XAI are in circulation, with a market capitalization of $149 million.
