The company\’s first collection outside Ethereum consists of 300 digital artifacts.
\n\n
«The generated images were created by Yuga Labs\’ in-house artistic team using 3D modelling tools, algorithmic construction, and high-quality rendering», the company explained.
\n\n
Creating this new type of NFT on the Bitcoin network became possible thanks to the Ordinals protocol. It uses satoshi numbering to place content, embedding data in the signature.
\n\n
«Satoshis are the smallest individually identifiable unit of Bitcoin — 100 million make up one BTC», the team reminded.
\n\n
For this reason, Yuga Labs warned users that to participate in the auction it is preferable to have a non-custodial wallet and a \”clean\” Bitcoin address. This is due to the risk of accidentally sending the NFT along with other assets in a standard transaction.
\n\n
«Wallets currently do not support transactions of individual satoshis. You are responsible for the safe storage and transfer of your signature», the Yuga Labs team stressed.
\n\n
According to the statement, the collection\’s auction will take place \”this week\”. Bids will be accepted exclusively in Bitcoin.
\n\n
As Bitcoin NFT numbers surged after appearing in late January 2023, the count surpassed 100,000. As of writing, the figure had already surpassed the 200,000 mark.
\n\n
Developers Litecoin created an analogue of the Ordinals protocol, which allowed issuing digital artifacts on the blockchain in a manner similar to the network of the first cryptocurrency.
