The non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace OpenSea will add support for the Klaytn blockchain from the Korean internet giant Kakao.
The integration with OpenSea will enable support for Klaytn-based NFTs and synchronize accounts with the Kaikas wallet. By the end of July the marketplace will launch the ability to buy and sell NFTs for KLAY.
The service-oriented blockchain platform was developed by Ground X, a subsidiary of Kakao. The mainnet launch of Klaytn occurred in June 2019.
In November 2020, the DeFi project MakerDAO became a member of the Klaytn Governance Council. Among the 32 alliance members are LG Electronics, the Philippines’ largest bank UnionBank, and cryptocurrency exchanges Binance and Huobi.
In March 2021, OpenSea raised $23 million in a Series A round, which was led by the leading Silicon Valley venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz.
