NFT of Dogwifhat Meme Coin Symbol Sells for $4.3 Million

The original image of the dog that became the symbol of the meme cryptocurrency dogwifhat (WIF) has reportedly been put up for sale as an NFT on the Foundation platform.

At the time of writing, the highest bid stands at 6.94 ETH (~$25,660), with more than two days remaining until the auction ends.

The NFT was sold for 1210 ETH ($4.3 million). The buyer is the well-known community trader Gigantic Rebirth (GCR).

According to an Instagram post, the auction was opened by the owner of the dog named Achi. To execute the NFT project, the owner collaborated with the Feisty DAO team.

In an earlier post, the user mentioned that the dog is 5.5 years old, lives in South Korea, and was previously named Chi-Chi.

“We are thrilled to see Achi’s puppy photos receiving so much love and attention from people around the world,” wrote the account owner.

According to CoinGecko, WIF’s market capitalization is approximately $2.9 billion, placing the coin among the top 50 by this measure.

The meme coin’s price surged rapidly since late February, reaching a peak of $3.47 on March 15. After a correction, the asset is trading below $3.1.

As reported by Lookonchain experts, one trader achieved a 4530-fold profit on WIF, earning over $1 million. In early March, he began selling off the coins.
