NFT startup RTFKT Studios secures $8 million from Andreessen Horowitz and Galaxy Digital

The NFT startup RTFKT Studios, which specialises in non-fungible tokens (NFTs), has raised $8 million in a seed funding round.

The funding round was led by venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz. The startup was also backed by Galaxy Digital, Ledger, Roham Garegozlou, CEO of Dapper Labs, C Ventures, Shrug Capital, the creator of NFT Fewocious, Genies founder Akash Nigam, and others.

The funds will be allocated to develop new tools for creating NFTs, to hire artists and other content creators, and the startup will also invest in ecosystem development.

Earlier in May, the NFT marketplace Genies raised $65 million from Coinbase Ventures and other investors.

At the end of March, the Dapper Labs project, behind the NBA Top Shot platform, closed a funding round of $305 million.
