Norton to Offer Secure Ethereum Mining

NortonLifeLock, a cybersecurity software developer, announced the launch of Norton™ Crypto. The service will allow users to mine Ethereum easily and securely within the Norton™ 360 platform.

«With Norton™ Crypto we will augment our cybersecurity platform to protect the digital lives of our customers», — said Vincent Pilette, Chief Executive Officer of NortonLifeLock.

The company noted that their new product would let miners forget the days when they had to disable antivirus software to mine cryptocurrency, since they could run code that deploys ransomware or steals data.

Norton™ Crypto will allow users to retain access to wallets in the event of a hard drive failure. The service stores mined coins in the cloud.

«With the new product, customers will have the ability to mine cryptocurrency «in a couple of clicks», bypassing the entry barriers to the digital asset ecosystem», — said Gagan Singh, the company’s Chief Product Officer.

As reported, the Canadian manufacturer Daymak will release a light electric vehicle with a mining option while parked.
