The user base of Brazil’s largest neobank Nubank surpassed 70 million. Among them, the number of cryptocurrency buyers reached 1.8 million, according to a press release.
The second figure accounts for users in the region’s largest country who have made at least one cryptocurrency purchase on the platform.
In late July, the company reported 1 million cryptocurrency customers. In two months, the number nearly doubled, underscoring strong demand for crypto assets in the region.
Other Nubank metrics:
- 66.4 million users in Brazil;
- 3.2 million in Mexico;
- more than 400,000 in Colombia;
- 6 million people use the neobank’s investment services;
- the company ranks fifth in customer numbers among financial institutions in the region’s largest country.
Brazil ranks seventh in Chainalysis’s global cryptocurrency adoption index. In the country, platforms Mercado Libre, PicPay, BTG Pactual and XP are popular; exchanges Binance, Bitso, Bitcoin Trade and Mercado Bitcoin operate.
In May Nubank announced a partnership with Paxos.
