Nvidia, the technology company, объявила a collaboration with Taiwan-based electronics manufacturer Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn) to accelerate an ‘industrial AI revolution’ in the field of artificial intelligence.
As part of the initiative, the partner will integrate Nvidia technologies to develop a new class of data centres focused on AI solutions for generative neural networks, electric vehicles and robotics.
Foxconn CEO Young Liu said the collaboration would begin with the creation of ‘intelligence factories’.
They comprise Nvidia GPU-based computing infrastructure designed for ‘processing and transforming large volumes of data into valuable language models and tokens’.
“There is a new type of production—the production of intelligence. And the data centres that create it are the factories of artificial intelligence.”
The aim of the collaboration, he said, is to deliver a modern, end-to-end hardware and software stack.
Foxconn is also developing its own AI solutions based on the technologies of a partner company:
- platform for autonomous electric vehicles Foxconn Smart EV on Nvidia DRIVE Hyperion 9;
- robotic systems Foxconn Smart Manufacturing on Nvidia Isaac.
- ‘smart city’ Foxconn Smart City based on Nvidia Metropolis video analytics service.
In August Nvidia reported a record profit for the second quarter of fiscal year 2024. Earnings per share stood at $2.7, with revenue doubling year-on-year to $13.5 billion.
Huang attributed the strong results to the ‘start of a new computing era’.
In September, the issuer of USDT Tether Limited spent $420 million on purchasing 10,000 Nvidia H100 chips.
