Nym to pay users in Bitcoin for providing computing power to the mixnet
The privacy-focused Swiss startup Nym Technologies announced the launch of a user-rewards program and Bitcoin integration on the Liquid Network, ForkLog has learned from project representatives.
Users who provide their computing power to the mixnet in the test network will receive payments in Bitcoin.
The mixnet is a privacy-preserving infrastructure that protects data and transactions in the network.
The latest version of Nym’s mixnet includes SOCKS5 support — a protocol used by Bitcoin wallets to connect to the Tor network via a proxy.
\”Unlike Tor, the Nym mixnet shuffles packets and sends fake packets to strengthen protection against traffic interception. Now Bitcoin wallets such as Electrum, which support SOCKS5 proxies to work with the Tor system, can connect to the Nym network,\” according to representatives of the startup.
The Nym network now also tracks node reputations on the Liquid sidechain using L-NYMPH tokens.
In the long term, the project intends to provide support for the privacy network for all applications.
Earlier this spring, Nym Technologies launched public testing of the mixnet.
