NYSE Plans to Launch Options on Ethereum ETFs

The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) has approached the SEC with a proposal to amend rules, enabling it to list and offer trading of options based on spot Ethereum ETFs from Bitwise and Grayscale.

The document mentions: Bitwise Ethereum ETF, Grayscale Ethereum Trust, and Grayscale Ethereum Mini Trust, as well as “any trust holding ether.”

“The exchange believes that offering options on ETP based on Ethereum, including Bitwise Ethereum ETF, Grayscale Ethereum Trust (ETH), and Grayscale Ethereum Trust Mini, will benefit investors by providing them with a relatively cheaper investment tool,” the application states.

Comments on the proposal must be submitted within 21 days.

In light of the recent cryptocurrency correction, market participants have increased positions in ETFs based on the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization.

The debut of these new instruments for the American market took place at the end of July.
