Off-White starts accepting Bitcoin
The Italian fashion brand Off-White has added the option to pay for its goods in Bitcoin and a number of other cryptocurrencies. This was reported by Vogue Business.
The list of digital assets for payment includes Bitcoin, Ethereum (ETH), Binance Coin (BNB), XRP and the stablecoins Tether (USDT) and USD Coin (USDC). The feature is already available in Off-White stores in Paris, London and Milan.
“This is another important step in the brand’s growth, as it looks to the future with Web 3.0 technologies and an understanding of the needs and desires of its constantly evolving customer base,” the company said.
Off-White noted the high volatility of the digital-asset market and promised to monitor price movements closely. When returning a product, customers will receive refunds in the local currency.
In April 2021, the French luxury goods maker LVMH, which owns a controlling stake in Off-White, together with Italian fashion house Prada and the jewelry brand Cartier created the Aura blockchain consortium to combat the counterfeiting of luxury goods.
Earlier in March 2022, the first fashion week in the metaverse took place in Decentraland.
