The third-largest bank in Singapore, United Overseas Bank (UOB), is reportedly developing a custody service focused on digital assets, according to The Block.
On its website, the organisation posted a vacancy for a vice-president of crypto-security.
The role involves managing specialized hardware for protecting cryptographic keys, configuring a centralized solution for their maintenance, and other duties.
The bank is seeking candidates with experience in encryption, generation and management of cryptographic keys. The requirements include knowledge of payment network standards, including tokenisation.
There are no other open positions related to cryptography at UOB.
At the end of October, DBS Bank announced the launch of a cryptocurrency exchange. The information was later removed, and a company spokesperson said the initiative is under development.
