Open interest in Bitcoin and Ethereum options hits all-time high

Total open interest (OI) in Bitcoin options rose over the week by 25% — from $3.4 billion to $4.53 billion.

As shown in the chart below, the largest share of open interest is on the Deribit exchange.

Over the week, open interest in Ethereum options rose by $221.09 million (39.5%). The metric reached $780.05 million, which is also an all-time high.

Bitcoin futures open interest on November 23 also updated a historical maximum at $7.1 billion.

Total daily trading volume of Bitcoin futures remains at $30 billion.

Earlier, open interest in Bitcoin futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) approached $1 billion.
