Chat.com is one of the oldest domains on the Internet, registered in September 1996. Last year, HubSpot co-founder and CTO Dharmesh Shah purchased it for $15.5 million.
In March 2023, Shah announced the sale of the domain name to an undisclosed buyer for a sum “greater than what he paid.” On X, he hinted that OpenAI settled the deal with company shares.
Details remain undisclosed.
