OpenAI Expands ChatGPT Go Subscription to 16 Asian Countries

OpenAI has broadened access to its most affordable subscription, ChatGPT Go, to an additional 16 countries in Asia, according to Nick Turley, head of ChatGPT.

“ChatGPT Go is designed for those who want to use our popular features at a more affordable price,” he noted.

For comparison, in other markets, the minimum Plus subscription costs $20. ChatGPT Pro is available for $200 per month, and a business plan costs $25.

ChatGPT Go increases limits on messages, images, and file uploads tenfold and provides twice the memory compared to the free version.

The company initially launched the plan in India and Indonesia for $4.5. It is now also available in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, the Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, East Timor, and Vietnam. Prices in other Asian countries may vary depending on local taxes.

The new subscription is gradually being rolled out to all users. In Cambodia, Laos, and Nepal, ChatGPT Go is already available via the web version and Android, but it is not yet on the iOS app.

OpenAI competes with Google in the affordable plan segment. In September, the corporation introduced the Google AI Plus plan at a price similar to ChatGPT Go in over 40 countries, including Ukraine, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Egypt, and others.

Earlier in October, OpenAI introduced a new feature allowing users to create applications directly within ChatGPT. This enables users to interact directly with services such as Booking․com, Expedia, Spotify, Figma, Coursera, Zillow, Canva, and others.
