“We launched Advanced Voice Mode in our iOS and Android apps in September, recently added it to desktop. Now we are excited to integrate the web into this mix. This means you can interact with ChatGPT directly from your browser,” he wrote.
The mode is available to users with Plus, Enterprise, Teams, and Edu subscriptions. Weil promised to make it accessible to all users in the coming weeks.
ChatGPT employs its own audio capabilities to facilitate natural real-time communication with users. The chatbot can understand and respond to non-verbal cues such as speech speed or emotion.
To activate the advanced voice mode in a web browser, users need to click the corresponding icon in the bottom right corner of the screen and grant permission to access the computer’s microphone.
OpenAI is also preparing to launch an AI agent codenamed “Operator.”
