OpenAI Introduces ChatGPT Translate, a New AI Translation Tool
OpenAI launches ChatGPT Translate, supporting over 50 languages.
OpenAI has launched ChatGPT Translate, an autonomous translation tool. It supports over 50 languages and appears to be a direct competitor to Google’s equivalent.

Visually, the services are similar: both feature two text fields—one for input and another for displaying the translated result. A dropdown menu for language selection is located at the top.
ChatGPT Translate can handle text, voice, and images, but unlike Google Translate, it does not yet support entire websites and documents.
In the desktop version, OpenAI’s service can only translate text. The mobile browser version includes microphone support.
ChatGPT Translate offers several presets for style management, such as “make the text more formal for business communication.”
The standard ChatGPT chatbot has long supported translation functions. The new release simply offers the tool as an additional web service. There is currently no standalone app available in the Apple Store or Google Play.
OpenAI has not made an official announcement regarding the new solution and has not disclosed which AI model underpins it.
Back in January, the company introduced ChatGPT Health, a specialized section for health consultations.
