OpenAI Introduces Pulse Mode in ChatGPT for Proactive Updates
OpenAI unveils ChatGPT Pulse for proactive daily updates.
OpenAI has launched a new mode in ChatGPT called Pulse. In this mode, the chatbot independently conducts research and proactively sends personalized daily updates from chats and connected applications like calendars.

In ChatGPT Pulse mode, users select the directions for AI research themselves. Results are presented as themed cards with designs that can be quickly browsed or opened for detailed viewing.
The feature is available to Pro subscribers on mobile devices.
“This is the first step towards a more useful ChatGPT that brings you what you need and helps you move forward faster, so you can get back to your life. We will learn and improve the feature based on early user experiences before opening access to Plus subscribers, and then to everyone,” the company blog states.
The startup claims that ChatGPT can now conduct asynchronous research on behalf of the user. Each night it “synthesizes information from memory, chat history, and feedback to understand the most relevant data and provide personalized, focused updates the next day.”
For additional context and more relevant suggestions, users can connect Gmail and Google Calendar. ChatGPT will then draft a meeting agenda, remind you to buy a birthday gift, or suggest restaurants for an upcoming trip.
The topics used in Pulse undergo safety checks to exclude harmful content.
“Every morning, ChatGPT sends a selection of the most relevant updates, so you have the information you need and can return to what matters. The information is only available that day unless you save it in the chat or ask a follow-up question—it will then be added to the dialogue history,” OpenAI noted.
Previously, OpenAI launched a special version of ChatGPT with parental controls for users under 18.
In July, the company introduced a special learning mode for students in ChatGPT, which helps work through tasks step-by-step rather than just providing ready answers.
