OpenAI Services Experience Global Outage
On June 10, ChatGPT, Sora, and OpenAI’s API experienced a global outage. The services have been facing issues worldwide for several hours.

“Some users are experiencing an increased number of errors and delays with the listed services. We continue to investigate the issue,” the team stated.
The only consistently functioning OpenAI service remains Playground, a platform for experimenting with AI models. ChatGPT users encounter error messages when attempting to send requests, both in the browser version and the mobile app.
Data from DownDetector shows hundreds of user complaints, with 93% concerning ChatGPT.

At the time of writing, OpenAI had not commented on the outage via its X account. The company’s latest post is about the announcement of the updated Advanced Voice feature for voice interaction with the chatbot.

This is not the first major outage for OpenAI products. A similar incident was recorded on May 19.
Back on December 26, 2024, ChatGPT, Sora, and the OpenAI API went down and were non-operational for over four hours.
