OpenSea to add support for BNB Chain

The OpenSea NFT marketplace team announced the integration of non-fungible tokens on BNB Chain into the open-source Seaport protocol.

By year-end, platform users will be able to buy, trade and list on the marketplace NFTs issued on the BNB Chain.

The Seaport allows creators of digital items to receive multiple payments and manage collections. It significantly reduces the costs of processing transactions, simplifies transaction confirmations, and eliminates account initialization fees. 

The move aligns with OpenSea’s aim of preserving its leading position. Currently the marketplace supports NFTs based on Ethereum, Polygon, Klaytn, Solana, Arbitrum, Avalanche and Optimism.

In November, the marketplace introduced a tool for collecting royalties.
