Opera’s developers announced plans to integrate Solana blockchain support in the first half of 2022.

“Opera has offered Web 3.0 support and a built-in crypto wallet in its browsers since 2018, for both mobile and desktop versions. … The Solana blockchain provides fast transactions with low fees that will help attract more people to Web 3.0 and DeFi,” the press release says.
In the initial phase, the new features will be implemented in Opera for Android.
In November, it emerged that the privacy-focused browser Brave интегрирует поддержку Solana. The implementation was also planned for the first half of next year.
Back in December 2018, Opera unveiled a Web 3.0-ready browser with a built-in Ethereum wallet for Android. Six months later, a version for iOS was released.
In July 2020, the company said that 170,000 people used its cryptocurrency product each month.
In early 2021, the payments processor Simplex announced that it would help Opera integrate a gateway for purchasing digital assets.
