Opera Unveils AI-Powered Browser Neon

On September 30th, Opera launched its AI-focused browser, Neon.

The development of this new solution was first revealed in May, though the browser was initially closed. As of September 30th, the company began sending invitations to select users who can try Neon with a subscription priced at $19.99 per month.

“We created Opera Neon for ourselves and for everyone who actively uses artificial intelligence in daily life. Today, we welcome the first users who will help us shape the future of agentic browsing,” said Krystian Kolondra, Executive Vice President of the browser division at Opera.

The solution includes several key features:

The new Opera browser can write small code snippets, useful for creating visual reports with tables and charts.

Neon features Cards, enabling repeated execution of the same prompt.

The Tasks tab organization tool allows for the creation of isolated workspaces.

With this latest release, Opera has officially joined the race of AI browsers. Previously, Perplexity launched a similar solution, Comet. Another notable player in the segment is Dia.

Earlier in September, Google announced a major AI update for Chrome.
