
Over 300 miners disconnected in Abkhazia raids
The Abkhazian Ministry of Internal Affairs continues raids to identify illegal mining farms. In the first half of June eight such facilities were discovered, сообщили in the department.
In Sukhumi, law enforcement officers disconnected 17 units of equipment, in the Gudauta District — 128.
A large mining farm was found in the Galsky District with 184 mining rigs. Law enforcement officers issued a fine of 408,000 rubles and disconnected the farm from the power grid.
In the Gagra District, 17 devices for mining cryptocurrencies were discovered, with a total electricity consumption of more than 28 kW.
Earlier in March, Abkhazia’s authorities extended the mining ban until 2022. They also approved penalties and criminal liability for illegal electricity use for cryptocurrency mining.
