Ozzy Osbourne announces NFT collection of bats

The British rock musician, one of the founders and members of Black Sabbath Ozzy Osbourne, announced the release of a non-fungible token (NFT) collection called CryptoBatz.

The collection includes 9,666 pixelated bat images. In an interview to Rolling Stone, Osbourne explained that the design is a tribute to one of his most iconic moments on stage. It refers to a 1982 concert in Des Moines, Iowa, when the singer bit the head off a bat.

“I was trying to get involved in the NFT movement, so when I asked Sharon [Osbourne] to gift a Bored Ape for Christmas after several failed attempts to buy one myself, and she said, ‘No,’ I decided to create my own [collection],” the musician explained.

According to the description, each CryptoBatz can “bite” and mutate with another NFT from the user’s digital wallet. The resulting MutantBatz will allow combining attributes from certain projects (Bored Ape Yacht Club, SupDucks, Cryptotoadz). No timelines for the feature’s implementation are specified.

Earlier Snoop Dogg unveiled a collection of non-fungible tokens in the form of a 3D collage made from parts of his own photographs. Before that, the rapper admitted that he is Cozomo de’ Medici, having amassed 247 NFTs, including nine CryptoPunks.

As reported in Voices of Classic Rock, the portal sold only one of four audio interviews with The Beatles as an NFT for a minimum price of 1.25 ETH.
