PayPal to Introduce Rewards for PYUSD Holders

Payment service PayPal is set to launch a rewards program for holders of the PYUSD stablecoin in the United States to boost its popularity. This was announced in the company’s blog.

American users will be offered an annual rate of 3.7% on PYUSD deposits in PayPal or Venmo. Interest in stablecoins is planned to be accrued daily and paid out monthly.

According to the project’s announcement, PYUSD can be used for payments within the services, including international transfers.

The program will launch in the summer of 2025. Users will be able to join or opt out at any time.

At the time of writing, the market capitalization of PYUSD stands at approximately $867 million.

In April, PayPal added support for Solana and Chainlink for clients in the U.S. and related regions.
