Plasma launches mainnet and XPL token, focusing on stablecoins.

The project offers USDT transfers without fees thanks to its proprietary PlasmaBFT consensus mechanism.

Developers position Plasma as a solution for global monetary transactions. The blockchain is compatible with EVM. At launch, it supports over 100 DeFi integrations, including Aave, Ethena, Fluid, and Euler.

At launch, the platform’s TVL was $2 billion in stablecoins. This positioned Plasma among the top 10 blockchains by this metric. The fully diluted valuation of XPL exceeded $8 billion.

“Stablecoins are money 2.0,” stated the project’s CEO, Paul Fax.

He added that access to the dollar will expand investment opportunities regardless of local market conditions.
