Playboy to Launch MetaMansion Metaverse

Head of Playboy’s Web3-segment, Liz Suman, at NFT Paris told Decrypt that the men’s magazine plans to launch the virtual world MetaMansion by the end of 2023.

Access to the metaverse will also be available to users who are not part of the Rabbitar community. But only its members will gain access to all the ‘cool places’ in the virtual world.

The project is being developed in collaboration with the The Sandbox metaverse by Animoca Brands.

In July 2021, Playboy launched its first NFT collection in collaboration with the SuperRare platform. It was dedicated to the resort city of Miami Beach.

Subsequently, the magazine launched a series of NFT avatars Rabbitar. According to OpenSea, as of writing the total trading volume of the collection had reached 2,779 ETH (more than $4.6 million).

In February, Neal Stephenson, who coined the term ‘metaverse’, doubted the prospects of the technology until people themselves decide to live in a digital world.
