Russian artist Arseniy Pyzhenkov, known by the pseudonym Pokras Lampas, created an exclusive NFT duck for the blockchain game Waves Ducks. The digital artwork was purchased by an anonymous participant for a record price of $55,000 (3.85 million rubles).
All ducks in the game are based on a single template, but differ in their artistic design. The ducks are not only a gaming tool but also collectible items.
The Pokras character LUCK & WISDOM is rendered in the artist’s signature calligraphy, encoding two opposites — luck and wisdom.
The Waves Ducks has made it into the top 10 NFT games six months after launch. Its players create, modify, buy and sell digital duck images in NFT format. Ducks can be bred to yield unique characters with high value. The most expensive and rare images depict famous personalities.
The unique duck of Pokras Lampas cannot be bred. It yields far more eggs than standard ducks.
