Pokras Lampas to present the Calligra-Futurism Manifest on the Binance NFT Marketplace

Binance and the Russian calligrapher Pokras Lampas announced a collaboration to create and release works as non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on the exchange’s NFT marketplace. ForkLog said in a statement.

The Binance NFT marketplace will take place on June 24, 2021. The artist’s works will be auctioned in the first week of its operation as part of the ‘100 Creators’ program.

Pokras Lampas is the founder of a new art movement — calligra-futurism. In recent years he has participated in street-art projects, solo and group exhibitions in Russia, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, China, South Korea, the United States, Switzerland and the UAE.

For the Binance NFT marketplace the artist will create ten unique works, dividing his calligra-futurism manifesto into parts.

Each work will consist of three parts: video, audio and text. The video is based on fragments of Pokras Lampas’s canvases elevated to a technical absolute — because of the complexity of the graphics it cannot be reproduced by hand calligraphy, yet each component is a digital version of works exhibited around the world. The audio component is the artist’s voice reading the manifesto’s points, and the text is the call itself.

“Our ancestors buried time capsules in the ground with letters to the future, but we have access to a digital code that will preserve our ideas for eternity and become the foundation for building a new culture, art and economy,” said Pokras Lampas.

Earlier, it was noted that for the artist the collaboration with the Binance marketplace would not be his first NFT venture — he sold a photograph of the Chirkey Hydroelectric Station as an NFT for 16 ETH.
