
Police seize millions of euros in cryptocurrency in operation against darknet traders.
In a joint operation by law enforcement agencies from several countries, 150 suspects were arrested in illegal darknet trading. Europol said.

The operation, named Dark HunTOR, began after elimination of the major darknet marketplace DarkMarket. Authorities gained access to information about the site’s organizers, sellers and buyers.

Arrests under Dark HunTOR were carried out in the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, the Netherlands, France, Switzerland and Bulgaria.

Law enforcement seized drugs, weapons and €26.7 million in cash and cryptocurrency.

As part of this operation, Italian authorities also shut down the darknet marketplaces DeepSea and Berlusconi, arrested four administrators and seized €3.6 million in cryptocurrency.

Earlier this year, German police closed one of the largest darknet sites Boystown, linked to child pornography.
