Polkadot joins Cosmos’ multi-chain ecosystem

Polkadot joins Cosmos' multi-chain ecosystem

The ecosystem Polkadot has integrated with the Cosmos blockchain space via the Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) protocol.

According to the statement, networks on the Polkadot platform have ‘met’ more than 50 blockchains that support IBC.

The Cosmos team, through the interoperability protocol, aims to build an ‘internet of blockchains’ (interchain), which allows participants to interact in a decentralized way.

“This historic achievement paves the way for the adoption of IBC and for the joining of the interchain by a broader set of ecosystems that are not native to Cosmos,” the Interchain Foundation said.

Polkadot is also developing technologies capable of increasing blockchain interoperability. The platform provides the ability to launch autonomous networks (parachains) on its own substrate and cross-chain bridges.

In March, Injective launched a solution that enables developers building on Solana to deploy their apps in the Cosmos ecosystem.
